The Desere Thornton Foundation

The Desere Thornton Endowed Scholarship at the University of Tennessee College of Social Work was established in memory of our classmate and friend Desere. She and her two sons were tragically murdered in their home in October 2009. Through this scholarship, we hope to empower community-minded people like Desere to reach their goal of obtaining a Masters of Social Work in order to improve the lives of those around them.
