Paws With A Cause custom trains Assistance Dogs for people with disabilities – Service Dogs, Hearing Dogs, Seizure Response Dogs and Service Dogs for Children with Autism. All PAWS Dogs are placed at no cost and PAWS is funded through general donations. Each prospective client is vetted through an extensive application process; once accepted and funding is in place, training of their Assistance Dog takes place at PAWS Headquarters in Michigan for 4 – 6 months. The dog is then delivered to the client in their home environments, where the dog/client team will then work with a PAWS Field Representative to learn how to work together to become a successfully certified Assistance Dog Team.
