Mangled Stare

Will Rodriguez began Mangled Stare in 2001 after realizing that his dream to create a comic strip hadn’t lost any steam since it first popped into his mind at the age of 8.

After marriage, a mortgage, and the birth of his first child became a reality, Will knew that he wanted to leave his children a legacy of the talent with which he had been blessed. Chronicling the events of parenthood and marriage just seemed a natural fit for the budding comic. Originally, the character Mimo was going to be a wrestler called The Puerto Rican Mangler, based on a joke in the office one day. Will remembered that he wasn’t too keen on wrestling and changed the idea to push Mimo into the role of a vigilante-style super hero, The Mighty Mangler.

Now readers get to see how a father and husband balances his home life with the rigors of superhero duty. Find hundreds of comics published on mangledstare.com and voluntarily donate to show your support!

In addition to Mangled Stare, artist Will Rodriguez is also a freelance illustrator, animator, and game artist.

Mangled Stare is not verified as a 501(c)3 organization.

Painting Mangler, Day 3

Last painting of the set, I promise. I got a job as an art entertainer/instructor for a paint and sip studio and have rediscovered my inner-painter. Your favorite Mangler will be teaching folks how to paint, while they get tipsy. Sounds like a win/win situation, to me. Here’s another one of the paintings I did [...]
