Chad and his wife, Christy need your help! Please check out http://giveforward.org/chaddelay to learn more of his story. Anything helps! Thank you!
From Chad’s aunt: My 25 year old nephew, Chad, and his wife Christy, recently returned from 3 years unpaid service abroad working on projects while studying with YWAM (Youth with a Mission). His first project was in March 06 – he was sent to Thailand to help with Tsunami victims. He lived in a refugee camp, cleaning debris, digging latrines, whatever needed to be done. Another project was with Lost in Traffik – an organization bringing awareness to child trafficking in Mumbai and Nepal. These were hands on projects, in the brothels and streets of these areas. He also produced images of the people he encountered and offered them in a Gallery exhibition in Perth to raise money and awareness. He told his story to High School students in Australia, so as to create awareness in this next generation. Christy worked in orphanages in Indonesia and Malaysia, also serving in Hospitality on the YWAM campus in Perth.
Chad was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in August. Being uninsured as a student with part time employment, he still must cover upwards of $15,000 in medical expenses. This is an enormous sum for a young couple to repay. They are both working – Christy as a barrista for BellaTazza www.bellatazza.com and Chad in construction for Kingdom Builders. Chad continues to pursue his studies, although some of Chad’s ability is compromised temporarily with the treatments and effects of treatment.
